Hot pot restaurant dining room with individual induction-well tables, wood-slat partitions, and a reclaimed-wood service bar

Westbury Restaurant Design & Build

A restaurant in Westbury, New York, built as a modular system that can be taken apart and set up again in a new space. AMPOPS led the project as both architect and builder, a design-build approach that gave the studio control over how every piece was fabricated and fitted. The wood screens, counters, tables, and seating were made to come apart and reassemble in a new space, so the interior can follow the business if it relocates. Vertical wood slats divide the floor into booths, wrapping each table in privacy while daylight drifts between the slats and keeps the room open to the eye. Pale oak, reclaimed timber counters, a dark steel-framed ceiling, low pendant lights, and wheatgrass planters above the screens give the room a warm, grounded feel. Each table holds a hot-pot burner, so guests cook together at the table.
