AMPOPS is a New York architecture and design-build studio. Our work spans apartments, houses, commercial spaces, multifamily buildings, and public projects. Yee Lin, a registered architect in New York and New Jersey, founded the studio and leads the team.

We begin with use. Every site holds a history. Every client moves through the day in their own way, and the plan follows that rhythm. We translate those patterns into clear spatial decisions.

Sustainability is part of the process from the first sketch. We treat sun, air, and heat as design material. Orientation, envelope, detailing, and systems each support long-term building performance. Materials are selected for durability and low impact.

Working in New York & New Jersey

We work across the full set of building requirements in New York and New Jersey. Zoning, code, filings, and approvals move in step with design. Digital modeling and careful coordination connect concept to construction. New methods and fabrication tools support accuracy and reduce waste.

AMPOPS has been featured in development projects across New York City, in collaboration with developers including Spruce Capital, Sunlight Development Group, and Promont, and partnered with other design firms as executive architect on landmark and high-end residential projects. The studio has also been recognized in juried competitions for civic and infrastructure work, including a Selected Award in an international competition for ecological infrastructure design.

Yee Lin

Yee studied architecture at Rhode Island School of Design and at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. Since 2014 he has been teaching, in New York and in Berlin, where he works with students on sustainability, building performance, and construction technology.

Before founding AMPOPS, Yee was project architect and manager at BKSK Architects and Marpillero Pollak Architects, where his projects included the Queens Public Library at Elmhurst, the Gatehouse to One Madison, a West Village penthouse, the Queens Plaza Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements Project, and the Superior Officers Council.

A wanderer looks around and says, "I have seen many towns, buildings, streets, and objects. They remain in my memory, but here, it's utter emptiness. Where can I take shelter?"

Out of a deep silence, a voice answers, "Tell me your greatest wish. Together we can envision your dream and make it come true."

Thus it begins. Lines are drawn, one after another, to create space and light. Gravity disappears as spaces soar. Light becomes tangible. Hues and textures blaze and merge. Materials are used in never-before ways to awaken the senses. A vivid ambience is created.

The wanderer is overjoyed. A place that only exists in the wondrous mind is now a reality for the present and future. The voice fades and says, "Your quest is over. Now your memories are forever."

We are AMPOPS.

We operate within and beyond your stories.
