Prewar Prospect Heights studio with an exposed brick fireplace, a walnut dining table, a green sofa, and built-in walnut shelving

Prospect Heights Prewar Studio Renovation

A classic prewar studio in Prospect Heights, brought up to date without losing its old-Brooklyn feel. The original brick fireplace stays as the anchor. AMPOPS treated the kitchen and bathroom as two small alcoves, each with its own mood. The kitchen runs warm, with a terra-cotta backsplash and a red oak butcher-block counter. The bathroom turns cool, with blue fish-scale tile and brass fixtures. That warm-and-cool play gives a compact floor plan real variety. Oversized windows and well-placed shades keep the light generous and privacy easy.
