Long Island Three-Story Home Renovation

The 7,000-square-foot house felt boxed in despite its size. AMPOPS opened the floor plate and centered the home around a sculptural stair and residential elevator, wrapped in plaster, glass, and wood slats. Daylight from above filters down through the open treads, washing the surfaces and reaching the entry below. The elevator brings full accessibility for an elderly family member and caregiver. Pale oak, plaster, and gray tile run through every floor.
