Courtyard between curved resort buildings with vertical wood louvers and glass facades among palms

Sanya Coastal Resort

Set in the highlands of Sanya, a tropical destination on China's southern coast, this resort is built to frame the view. AMPOPS arranged three tower forms to capture long sightlines toward sky, ocean, and horizon, with a central gathering space below them. A continuous ground-level circulation loop ties the towers together, weaving hotel, retail, and entertainment into a single experience. Rather than splitting leisure, spectacle, and shopping into zones, the design merges them into a sequence that invites wandering, interaction, and pause. Curved volumes and elevated walkways carry a sense of movement and visual layering across the whole site. At its core, the proposal lets land, water, and architecture intertwine into an immersive environment shaped by light, landscape, and scale.
