Catskills Forest Wellness Retreat

Located in forested hills in the Hudson Valley, a wellness retreat is designed in dialogue with the trees. AMPOPS preserves the dense canopy, the topography, and the site's low dry-stacked stone walls, lifting guest rooms on slender supports rather than clearing the land. Those supports echo the surrounding trunks, so guests can feel like they are walking within the canopy. Elevated walkways link the volumes and open onto platforms for gathering or quiet space. The volumes turn toward the nearby water, drawing the landscape into every room.
